Give the Ultimate Musical Gift to All Melburnians in 2024.

Support the 3MBS Made in Melbourne 2024 Live Events Program as a dedicated MIM Giving Circle Donor.

3MBS is thrilled to continue its Made in Melbourne live events program in 2024 with a new lineup of artists and performances that showcase the best classical music and jazz that Melbourne has to offer. MIM is designed to celebrate the musical talents of homegrown artists across a diverse range of alternative venues and present unique and cutting-edge music that pays homage to past classics as well as new music by Australian contemporary composers.

After the success of 3MBS’s inaugural Made in Melbourne, we are thrilled to launch our 2024 program. This year, MIM will develop new relationships with artists and push new artistic boundaries with a full season of events to suit all ages. MIM aims to engage artists of all ages and stages of their musical careers, showcase past and present Australian composers, produce programs that embrace diversity and access, and explore and challenge ideas to advance audiences’ understanding of classical music repertoire and programming.

Most importantly, Made in Melbourne upholds its mission to bring audiences together through their love of classical music and jazz.

The impact of MIM is far-reaching. Firstly, the program offers paid performance contracts for artists and provides them with a creative and safe platform to explore lesser-known and new music. Secondly, MIM demonstrates innovation in classical music production by activating new performance spaces away from the traditional concert hall. Consequently, this enables 3MBS to create unique musical experiences that pull at your heartstrings, are artistically stimulating, and celebrate Melbourne’s rich musical creativity.

The 2024 Made in Melbourne program will include:

  • 2024 Marathon TRANSFIGURED – Melbourne Recital Centre, Saturday 24 February.
  • Music, She Wrote – Tempo Rubato, Brunswick, 20-22 March: festival celebrating the music of women composers over time.
  • Classically Kids – Collingwood Children’s Farm, April, July and September school holidays: a fun-filled interactive classical music experience for our youngest music enthusiasts.
  • Shaping Soundscapes Music & Arts Series– JAHM Gallery, Prahran, 25 May (two events): Q&A and live performance sessions that explore musicians’ reactions to visual arts in a contemporary gallery space.
  • NAIDOC Week Concert – 7-14 July, Collingwood Yards: gala event celebrating First Nations artists.
  • Winter Warmers – Abbotsford Convent, July: ‘salon’ style jazz recital.
  • 3MBS English Music Festival – Auburn Uniting Church, Hawthorn24-25 August: festival celebrating familiar English music favourites alongside rarely heard gems.
  • Phosphorescence – Alpha60 Chapter House, September: an intimate evening of choral music inspired by transcendent light and energy.

We hope there is something on offer that speaks to your passion for music in this year’s program and we look forward to seeing you in the audience at a MIM event throughout the year.
