In November Richard Tognetti and the Australian Chamber Orchestra are joined by the great piano virtuoso Polina Leschenko to perform two of the most beloved romantic concertos ever written. Composed when Chopin was just 20 years old and inspired by unrequited love, his Piano Concerto No.2 is exquisitely beautiful and deeply emotive. Chopin’s close friend Felix Mendelssohn then brings Richard and Polina centre stage for his Double Concerto for Violin and Piano, and the thrilling virtuosity of the Orchestra is showcased in an arrangement of Fanny Mendelssohn’s String Quartet.
