One of the many retired doctors who have volunteered at 3MBS is Graeme McKinnon was born and educated in Geelong.
One of Graeme’s specialties was in Medical Microbiology and he consulted in most of the public hospitals in Melbourne, particularly in the Peter MacCallum Institute. Prior to his retirement he worked with a private pathology group.
Baritone Graeme sang briefly with Astra, in the Verdi Requium & has performed at Opera in the Alps/Vineyard/Market. ‘Choir Olympics” at Linz with CHIME, MLC Male Voice Choir and the Heidelberg Choral Society not to mention his prowess in Gilbert & Sullivan operetta.
His becoming programer/presenter with 3MBS is the reverse of the more usual ‘child following parent’. His daughter is a past broadcaster with 3RRR presenting programmes including interviews and film and theatre.
