Saturday afternoon concert of orchestral music (including choral orchestral items), from Baroque to contemporary, featuring a major work each week.

Two spiffing new recordings this week on 3MBS’s Saturday Afternoon Concert on 3MBS. (4 Feb 2017).  A new Tchaikovsky Symphony No 6 with the Czech Philharmonic that gets excellent reviews, and have you heard of George Frederick Boyle? He’s an Australian composer who taught Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber at the Curtis Institute!  His Piano Concerto is a joy.
