As Australia joins the rest of the world in containing the coronavirus (COVID-19), I would like to reassure you that 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne will continue to provide you with the music you love over the coming months. However, the health and safety of our volunteer presenters is paramount and so it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to reduce our live programming to enable most of our community of volunteers to remain at home.
This special programming will commence on Monday 6 April, and from this date only select programs will be broadcast live. All other programs which are usually live will continue, but will be drawn from our extensive back catalogue so that you can continue to listen to your favourite presenter at the same time every day. The wellbeing of you and our supporters is most important to us and the station acknowledges that for many of you, your favourite program or 3MBS presenter is a very important relationship in your life. We are committed to maintaining the continuity of these relationships as one of the ways in which we can support you.
We also encourage you to visit the websites of musicians and arts organisations who may provide you with comfort through alternative ways of attending concerts during these months. For those who are living alone or who are isolated due to ill health you may like to call or email the station to let us know how you are going. Please stay in contact with us and let us know if you need additional support. 3MBS will remain a close companion to you all as we face this challenge to our public health together. Stay safe and well.
Starting Monday 6 April the following programs will be broadcast live from our studios:
Monday – Friday:
Daybreak (6am – 9am) and Intermezzo (4pm – 7pm)
Daybreak (6 – 7:30am) and Piano Notes (4pm – 6pm)
Hymns Old & New (7am – 7:30am)
Organ and Choral (7:30am – 9am)
Melbourne in Concert (6pm – 8pm)
For 3MBS subscribers who receive the printed ON AIR magazine, the April program guide is correct for the live programs only. Please refer to our website for future program changes. For 3MBS subscribers who receive a digital version of ON AIR (coming to you this week) this issue will reflect all changes for April.
