Music for Keyboard presented by Mark Kerr, 7pm Wednesday 16 April
Kawai Australia and 3MBS present the next instalment of the Kawai Live series for 2025 featuring Đina Perazić.
Đina Perazić is an accomplished classically trained pianist from Montenegro. After completing the highly selective entrance exam, she successfully enrolled and began her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, focusing on both piano performance and pedagogy.
Upon graduating, Đina had the opportunity to move to Melbourne. Here, she has been further developing herself as a musician - individually and through collaborations. In her solo repertoire, she gravitates most towards early 20th-century impressionistic music, such as pieces by Debussy and Ravel, contrasted by the temperamental, and yet sentimental music of Balkan composers, such as Mokranjac and Tajčević.
Recently, Đina has been collaborating with an independent Australian composer, Oliver Grey. The creative process of offering suggestions and interpreting pieces as they’re being written has been a unique and defining experience for her as an artist. Together, they’ve been working on pieces for solo piano, piano for four hands, as well as pieces for chamber music ensembles. They’ve had the opportunity to perform and record Oliver’s Sonata-Fantasie, and plan to do the same with future projects.
