Trombonist Michael Mulcahy is a long-time member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He is also a regular soloist, active chamber musician and distinguished teacher, a regular visitor back to his home country of Australia. He has played on several occasions with the Australian World Orchestra and makes an important contribution to music education through the International Brass Residency at ANAM. He talks with Ted Davies about what it’s like playing in one of the world’s great orchestras, under some of the world’s most celebrated conductors. You can hear their conversation on Reflections at 4pm on Sunday 21 July, repeated 3pm on Friday 26 July.
