Maria Myers, Companion of the Order of Australia, is an eminent philanthropist and advocate for all manner of important worthwhile causes and institutions in the arts and other fields.

She has developed a deep, longstanding interest in indigenous rock art of the Kimberley about which she feels passionately, convinced this is an essential part of our Australian heritage and history.

Maria is also passionate about classical music, especially that written for the string quartet, hence her patronage and practical support for the Australian String Quartet over many years.
