British conductor Anthony Negus has been a Wagner enthusiast since he was a boy.  He joined the Music Staff of Welsh National Opera in 1976 where he worked for 35 years with many of the world’s greatest conductors, joining their ranks as a world authority and conductor of Wagner.  In 2017 he was awarded the Reginald Goodall Memorial Award for outstanding services to Wagner’s music and musical life.  He recently conducted Melbourne Opera’s triumphant performances of Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde.  You can hear Anthony Negus interviewed by Doug Beecroft on Reflections on 3MBS at 5pm Sunday 8 April (repeated at 12 noon on Thursday 12 April on 3MBS Digital).
