Conductor, pianist and author Paul Kildea has held many prominent posts in a stellar musical career, including artistic directorships of the Aldeburgh Festival and Wigmore Hall.  Author of prize-winning books including Benjamin Britten: A Life in the 20 Century and most recently, Chopin’s Piano: A Journey through Romanticism, Paul is also currently the Artistic Director of Musica Viva Australia. 

He spoke with Piano Notes’ Vanessa Sharman prior to the performance of all 24 of Chopin’s Preludes by Gintaute Gataveckaite for Melbourne Digital Concert Hall.
