Woodend Winter Arts Festival
The Woodend Winter Arts Festival is an annual celebration of music, literature and the visual arts, taking place in the charming village of Woodend over the King’s Birthday long weekend in June. The four-day program features a world-class showcase of vibrant, traditional and thought-provoking events in the heart of the beautiful Macedon Ranges.
Musical highlights include performances by acclaimed jazz musician Simon Tedeschi with George Washingmachine, a Choral Marathon, Ensemble Gombert, Accademia Arcadia, Ensemble Liaison, The Affinity String Quartet, Jacqueline Ogeil and The Alma Zygier Trio.
New to the program this year is the High Street Festa. Over one evening, Woodend’s main street will come to life as historic buildings are illuminated with colourful projected artworks by local artist Mary Larnach-Jones. There will also be late night shopping. The evening will culminate with a flash mob Big Sing, as hundreds of singers join forces.
