SMSO's 2024 season continues with Haydn’s ground-breaking Trumpet Concerto and Schubert’s majestic final symphony – the Ninth – in a new venue due to the ongoing closure of the South Melbourne Town Hall for remediation and refurbishment.

South Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's 2024 season continues on Sunday 23rd June with a 2:30 pm concert at St Stephen’s Anglican Church Richmond and features Haydn’s evergreen Trumpet Concerto, with soloist Darcy O’Malley from the Australian National Academy of Music. The concert opens with the overture to The Flying Dutchman by Wagner, and concludes with Schubert’s majestic Symphony no 9, nicknamed the “Great”.

Conducted by Lynette Bridgland, trumpet soloist Darcy O’Malley.
