Reverie and Revelry

In "Reverie and Revelry", pianist and composer William Schmidt will perform a program of musical contrasts between dreamy relaxation and merriment. The music ranges from Chopin's reflective Berceuse and Amy Beach's "Dreaming" to Schumann's "Faschingsschwank aus Wien" (Carnival Jest from Vienna) and the final piano sonata of Mozart ("The Hunt"). Along with Tchaikovsky's colourful Variations Op. 19 No. 6, William will also perform a selection of his own compositions and pianistic song arrangements.
