Preston Symphony Orchestra to perform newly commissioned composition from Luke Severn

Preston Symphony Orchestra will perform a new composition, commissioned by the orchestra from Melbourne based composer Luke Severn. The new composition, titled Transfiguring the Sky is inspired by the connection between us and the sky and its ability to influence our thoughts and feelings. The world premiere of Transfiguring the Sky will be as part of the orchestra’s concert “Transformations” on 27th June 2021, commencing at 2.30pm in Preston City Hall. The following works will also be performed: Verdi Overture to La Forza del destino Copland ‘Quiet City’, for strings and solo cor anglais and trumpet Soloists: Briana Leaman and Joel Brennan Brahms Symphony No 3
