Music for the Heart and Soul
After delighting our audience in 2017 soprano Kathryn Radcliffe returns with pianist David Barnard to present a mixture of operatic mad songs (to spice things up) teamed with a selection of gentler, more emotionally nourishing music: music for the heart and soul.
Winner of the 2014 Herald-Sun Aria, Kathryn starred the following year as Pamina in Opera Australia’s touring production of The Magic Flute and won the Opera Foundation Vienna Award. After working in 2016 at the Vienna State Opera she returned to Australia and in 2017 made her debuts with both Victorian Opera and the Tasmanian Symphony.
David Barnard has enjoyed a very varied career, having worked with a wide
range of instrumentalists and singers in Australia and overseas. After being
based in the UK for 13 years he returned in 2013, taking on the role of Head of Music for the State Opera in South Australia; more recently relocating to Melbourne.
We welcome Kathryn and David as they bring us a heart-warming afternoon of music.
