This concert presented by Heidelberg Wind Ensemble, conducted by Stephen Carpenter at St Georges Anglican Church, Warncliffe Road, East Ivanhoe, features three Australian Wind Band Premières: Australian Wind Band Première Graham Lloyd: “Through a Soldier’s Eyes” and Australian Wind Band Premières of Onsby Rose's: “Symphony No. 1” and “Lamentations” A Tone Poem for Solo Trumpet and Wind Ensemble, with Solo Trumpeter Anthony Pope Other music on the program includes: Samuel Barber: “Commando March” Gabriel Faure: “Libera Me” from Requiem (Mass for the Dead) David Keeffe: “For the Fallen” with Baritone soloist Thomas Currie Elliott Del Borgo: “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night” This concert honours, through music, all those who have given their lives and futures through the tragedy of War.
