After the Fires

The Heidelberg Wind ensemble unites exciting programming with the unique sound of the wind band, which you can experience in the sonorous setting of the Robin Boyd designed church, St George East Ivanhoe.

Conducted by: Stephen Carpenter, we welcome back two friends of the band, Jason Xanthoudakis, who will perform David Keeffe's “After the Fires” - Concerto for Bass Clarinet and Wind Band, a work commissioned by the soloist, plus the Australian Première of Ed Green’s “Symphony in Eb”. The composer Ed Green, from America, will be in attendance for this performance.

The concert includes toe-tapping pieces by Shostakovich and Bernstein, Russian and American music by master composers.
