A team of volunteers is rostered at 3MBS Reception to

• represent 3MBS as the first point of contact and refer callers to appropriate volunteers and staff
• undertake a wide range of office duties
• provide a high standard of customer service
• assist in the receipt and processing of subscriptions and donations.

Administration A range of administrative roles including assisting with mailouts, fundraising and marketing activities, data and records management.

Assisting with ongoing operations of the music library including:

• collate CDs ready for program presenters to play on air, using the Library database
• catalogue new CDs on the Library database
• transfer CDs into electronic storage for later use

Assist IT staff to maintain systems and equipment. Assist the Program Manager in the management of the 3MBS web site and social media networks.

Work as a volunteer presenter and/or programmer in the broadcast of a range of fine music and arts related programs. Programs presented on air vary in length from 1–3 hours and rostered hours are between 6.00am and midnight, Monday – Saturday and 7.00am to midnight on Sunday.

Record, produce and edit content including feature programs, program segments and on-air sponsorship promotions. Also includes sorting, arranging and moving electronic files into appropriate folders ready for system upload.

Record fine music concerts at various locations around Melbourne and regional Victoria for broadcast. Please note that some prior training and/or experience is required by new volunteers in this area. Recording engineers:

• Deploy and set up 3MBS recording equipment to recording locations
• Test and balance prior to performances
• Record performances
• Master, edit and produce recordings of live performances for broadcast
