Anne Buist almost gave up her medical studies but discovered a passion for psychiatry, which she has been able to combine with her passion for writing. The protagonist of her crime novels, Natalie King is also a forensic psychiatrist who deals with the difficult life issues that Anne discusses in her conversation with Kiera Stevens on Reflections. She also talks about the life-changing experiences shared with her husband, Graeme Simsion while walking the Camino in France and Spain. This led to their joint authorship of Two Steps Forward, a novel about a divorced Englishman and a recently widowed American woman who meet on the walk.
