The Lark Ascending is one of the most popular pieces of classical music worldwide. Its composer, Vaughan Williams, was more than just that one piece of music. In a life that spanned 86 years, he wrote nine symphonies, numerous choral and orchestral works, operas, hymns, film scores and a vast repertoire of songs.
