Discover something wonderful each
weekday with Karl Haas
9am Weekdays on
3MBS 103.5FM
Each weekday, listeners to 180 stations in the United States,
and to a network of stations via the Community Broadcasting
Association of Australia, tune in to radio's most widely
listened-to classical music program: Karl Haas' Adventures
in Good Music.
The program began in 1959 on WJR, Detroit, going national
through WCLV/Seaway Productions in 1970. Although Karl died
on February 6, 2005, his programs, which are his legacy,
will continue to be made available to the listeners of the
stations that carry him.
In 1991, Karl received the National Endowment for the Humanities'
Charles Frankel Award, which was presented to him by the
first President Bush at a ceremony at the White House. He
won the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award twice and
was named to the Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago--the first
classical broadcaster, and so far the only one, to be so
honored.
In addition to his daily broadcasts, Haas wrote a book,
Inside Music, which is now in its 10th printing, and he
recorded three best selling compact discs based on his programs.
Adventures in Good Music can be heard on 3MBS 103.5 weekdays
at 9am. Click on the link above right to access the archived
